The Yellow Cosmos Flower (Cosmos Sulphureus) is a flower found in many a garden. Cosmos are herbaceous perennial plants growing 0.3–2 m tall. The leaves are simple, pinnate, or bipinnate, and arranged in opposite pairs.
The Ashy Prinia or Ashy Wren Warbler is more often heard than seen. Its loud calls often are the alarm bells waking people out of their slumber.

Delonix regia is a species of flowering plant from the Fabaceae family, Caesalpinioideae subfamilia, noted for its fern-like leaves and flamboyant display of flowers. Often grown as an ornamental tree and given the name Royal Poinciana or Flamboyant, it is also known as Gulmohar (Hindi and Urdu -‘Gul’ means flower and ‘Mohr’ is ‘peacock’, thus the name suggests spectacular show of colorful flowers, much like flamboyant colors of a peacock, KrishnachuRa (Bengali: 'crown of the Lord Krishna), Phượng vĩ (means "Phoenix's Tail) (Vietnamese), Malinche, and Tabachine, and one of several named the Flame tree. The species was previously placed in a genus Poinciana, named for Phillippe de Longvilliers de Poincy, 17th century governor of Saint Christophe (Saint Kitts), who is credited with introducing the plant to the Americas. Being a legume it has nitrogen fixating and soil improving properties.
Bauhinia tomentosa (Camel Foot Tree): Medium to large shrub to a small tree, up to 4m in height. Leaves are divided into two lobes, light green in colour, with a leathery texture, carried on branches that are often drooping. It produces large bell-shaped, bright yellow flowers with a black to deep maroon coloured centre from December to March. The fruit are pea like, slender and velvety. They are light green, turning a pale brown with age and are produced from January to June or even later. Bark is gray or brown.
